Metal Reich
Heavy metal & rock have long been neglected and ignored by the mainstream media, and by the nation itself, but things seem to be looking up now. The spate of performances has been a boost to the rock scene, and has given fans a chance to be a part of quality performances on par with the rest of the world, rather than suffer the sub standard music that dominates the local scene. The only popular Indian act that was able to rise above the wave of mediocrity was Indus Creed, and following their disbanding, the country has been deprived of good music apart from the occasional 'mercy tours', like the Deep Purple and Bon Jovi concerts. Things seemed to have changed in the recent past, with the Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Scorpions and other concerts, seeming like a blitzkreig of metal, and for us rock starved delinquents there finally seems to be some succour.
